Abstract

|
Choryongdamsagan-Tang water extract(CWE), when given intravenously, produced hypotensive action in rabbit. The hypotensive action induced by CWE was inhibited by pretreatment of atropine and diphenhydramine, but potentiated by physostigmine. The hypotensive action induced by CWE was not influenced by bethanidine, chlorisondamine and propranolol. The CWE did not affect the pressor actions caused by norepinephrine and carotid occlusion. Above results suggest that CWE produce the hypotensive action through muscarinic and histamine like actions.
